Cool stuff

I love my job, its usually good, sometimes its great. And days like to day are just awesome.
So long story short, we are doing a photo shoot in a mag as a prize for a competition I ran for one of my fragrances. The winner of the comp gets their entry translated into a photo shoot.
So today, I spent a good 2 hours casting models to be in the shoot.
There were heaps of them.
Tall ones, really tall ones. Pretty ones, beautiful ones.
Skanky one, ones with bad hair.
Really though, it was so much fun, flicking threw their books, then tell them ill let them know like I was so important.
So good, I could do that all day long.
Next week, we are doing a male casting BRING IT ON.

Latest

Meeting went well, really well.
So the deal is that the want me to write for their website, and they have sent some stuff to NY and they re running it on their website already and then they said after a while I could do some articles for the magazine and they want to see me do reviews as well.
This is all a bit exciting and rad.
Best bit, they are paying me to do it. Per word, which I find hilarious, but I guess that is how it is done.
Now, just got to be funny and write some good stuff, no pressure!

Also, I am off to Amsterdam this weekend, red light district here I come!

The most exciting news ever.

So, a little while back I entered this competition to write a blog for a music site. Well not just a music site but a massively cool site that is international and uber cool.
Anyway, I got an email today asking me to send them some stuff so they could see what else I could write. So I did this and the wrote back saying that they loved it and now I have been emailing the editor all day and he wants to have a meeting tomorrow to talk about what I can do for them.
I am so flipping excited, I nearly wet my pants when he asked me for a meeting. This is good, very very good.

Gok Wan

I saw him in Soho yesterday and decided that I love him.

Gok is a stylist that has his own tv shows about making chicks feeling better. He does this by getting them naked, then giving them a make over and a tonne of free clothes. Its a great show and he is awesome on it and always looks so good and he is so well dressed.

Any way, Gok is a gay man. And he is way out there and letting everyone know, which I think is great as I am a fan of people being comfortable with themselves blah blah blah.

Reminds me of the time that I called my receptionist at work gay, and he got offended and I got in trouble for it. Seriously champ, you going and getting your knickers all up in a bunch doesn't half lend itself to the stereotype, please.

Anyway, I have a crush on Gok.

I wonder if a gay man would ever stop being gay and go out with a women. It works the other way, like the time a guy I really liked and went on a few dates, tells me that he was gay after we just spent hours making out on the couch, please.
And you hear of it all the time that men who are married for years with kids, then decides that they are gay. Or the same for women who are married to men with kids then leave their families for another woman, this one has happended to two friends of mine, true.

Gok really would be the perfect boyfriend, he would dress well, and he has cool celeb friends, he has hot tattoos and he is just lovely to look at himself. He wears glasses and is funny and tall and slender. He has dark hair so I don't have to worry about ranger kids. Man he really would be my ideal man apart from the fact that he likes the dudes, he is ticking all the boxes.

So that is it, new favorite person is Gok Wan. I am getting a t-shirt printed that says '' I love GOK''.

What is with the 'reply all' button.

We have about 200 people in my office, then we are part of a UK company that has about 1000 people. Then that company is part of a global team that has about 50,000 people all over the world.
So today, some douche bag in Canada forwarded on an email and hit 'reply all' so this went to the entire global network group email address by mistake.
Have you ever got an email that was not meant for you?
I have, I deleted it and forgot about it.
But that is not what the 50,000 people who wok in my company did. no, no no, they decided to hit reply all and tell everyone that the email they received was not meant for them.
So one by one the reply all answers came in. From all over the world. 100's of people wrote back replying to all and seriously this went on for hours.
I am sitting at my desk, just deleting, deleting deleting.
Then someone wrote a reply all, saying that the whole global network is copied in on the email and to please stop replying all....then more people reply!!!
And to think, that when all the other people on the other side of the world who are currently asleep, when they wake up they will write back to the first email replying all because they would not of yet read the email telling them not to reply all...oh the pain.

Roller Skating rules.

I have always like it, since I was a kid. I can't roller blade to save my life but I am a tip top roller skater.
On Sunday down at the South Bank they had a skate rink set up and you could roll around and just have a wicked time.
Its been a while since I last wore a pair of those babies but it was second nature, just like riding a bike.
I bough t a bike on the weekend, I traded in my old crap one, one for a good second hand one. It has a little rusty, so I have called it Rusty.
Between all the bike riding and roller skating I did on the weekend, my bum has never hurt so much, buns of steel here I come!

Guests

Since living here in London, I have had a few guests, a few people have come to visit.
I usually like a guest coming to visit. Its fun, its exciting, I get to show them around London and I have had a few lately so know I know the difference between a bad guest and a good guest.

Good Guest
This weekend, my friend Lex came to stay, and she was the best guest ever.
She bought my dinner on Friday, she bought me breakfast on Sunday, she hung up her towel and folded the linen. She was happy to go along with my suggestions and go to the places I recommended. She put the lounge room back and did the sofa bed by herself and took out her rubbish. She even left me a little card saying thank you with a gift!
Really, she is welcome to stay any time she likes and has now set the standard of what types of guests I want.

Bad Guest
Bad guest are the worst.
A bad guest makes me not want to be in my own house, I am currently having a guest of my flatmate living in my house. But to be honest, he is not rally a guest, he has pretty much moved into my house and I am not fu**king happy about it.
So flatmate emailed me the day before this guy arrived - thanks for the notice douche. The guy has moved here from Singapore and is looking for a job. So whilst he is looking, he is 'staying' at our house.
The other day I came home and went to put a drink in the fridge but there was no room as this 'guest' had been shopping and taken up ALL THE FLIPPING SPACE!!!
Then I was going to do my washing on the weekend, as its the only time I have, and idiot guest was doing his...hello, you are around all week, why don't you do it then!
This sh*t has been going on for four weeks and I am ready to snap.
At the end of this week, I am going to say something, cause lets be honest this guy is a joke and I have had enough. He is a lovely guy, but it would also be lovely if he paid some rent or put in for bills.
Come to think of it, the thing that ercks me the most, is that he leaves the toilet seat up. My flatmate does not do this and idiot guest does it drives me mental, how hard is it to put the seat down, I might put a sign on it.

Drives me mental. Can't deal. Going to crack it big time.

My Glastonbury round up

(sunny times)

Where do I begin...how about on the Friday.....well, we got there on Thursday actually so I will start there.
Coach travel is really for Chavs, there is nothing luxurious about a coach, I don't care if you have air conditioning and a video player you are just a glorified bus and the only reason we are taking you is because we don't drive and apparently the trains home are a nightmare, but really the coach sucks.
So we get there, its massive, 1000 acres of farm and tents everywhere it was like a town all by itself.

(different levels of clean wellies...mine are on the left)

We finally found our friends and pitched our massive tent and got settled. T
Thursday night was a bit nothing really, just had a drink and a burger and dealt with the pouring rain and it really poured which was lame but thankfully on Saturday it cleared up and stayed that way for the rest of the time that we were there.

(hang overs and crowded house, good times)

I saw so much awesome music and wicked bands, below is my review of the favorites:

Editors - amazing, I love Tom and his sideburns, they were very good

Crowded House - a sentimental favorite for me, bought a little tear to the eye and it was a bit of a a mass singalong

Neil Diamond - The Jewish Elvis. I love Neil, always have and for a oldie he still has the moves, Sweet Caroline was the biggest sing along by far

Newton Faulkner - not a massive fan but when you got a hang over and your lying on the grass drinking a cider he is not bad and he did a good queen cover

Verve - pfft, I think that Richard Ashcroft should get over him self a little, they have about 3 songs that are good but the rest are a bit rubbish and as they were the last people playing the festival you think they would of ended with a big one, like bitter Sweet Sympanty, but no, they played some new sh*t that no one new so they didn't get a massive response

Jay Z - Hit it out of the park, didn't wheel out Beyonce or anyone, but really I don't think he needed to, he was very good and lived up to the hype, he might have 99 problems, but bringing it on is not one of them

Seasick Steve - This crazy old dude who plays blues and country and a diddlebow (that is a one sting instrument) was rad and like a grandad that you wish you had

Elbow - so good, Grounds for divorce is my new favorite song, go listen to it

Hot Chip - you gotta love nerds. I bet the conversations went like this...'hey we can make stuff with computers.Lets make some noise and music and see what happens'...brilliant

Goldfrapp - so lovely, her new stuff is a bit mellow but she cranked out the old dance ones and was radical

Candi Staton - was great, with that song ' You got the love', it was unreal

Leonard Cohen - love a crooner and his voice just melts you away, was not bad for a 79 year old

(I am rocking that wet weather, cowgirl look)

I am covered in scratches and bruises mainly from having fights with the tent and the portaloos, which might I add where HORRENDOUS.
But by the end of the festival I had my moves down to a fine art, but really, there ain't nothing good about a portaloo on day 5 of a festival.
The 8 hours it took to get home was a bit of a bummer but was bearable only cause I managed to sleep half the time, its amazing that when you are that tired you can sleep in the oddest positions.
The best bit about getting home was the hour and a half that I spent in the shower, washing off 5 days of junk nd then the massive curry I ate and the amazing sleep tha tI had.
But all I all, it was rad and I will defo do it again, so see you next year Glastonbury, you were unreal!!!!
